Update: Check out the new video for my soundtrack JUPITER SUITE!!
Take your headphones or use the Dolby II Encoding of your Amplifier. Lay back, close your eyes or turn off the lights and join me on a very special and incredible trip into the deep space. Let us fly to the biggest and most colorful planet of our Solar System… JUPITER.
The background of this electronic symphony used modulated frequencies which the Voyager probe received directly from Jupiter. The result is an experimental but melodic soundtrack in 5 Parts:
1 KI.SCHAR 00:00 04:55
KI.SCHAR (in terms of “biggest of all solid countries [planets]”) or BARBARU (in terms of “glittering”, “glossy”, “brilliant”) are the ancient names for Jupiter, given by the Sumerians (present-day Iraq). The Sumerians endowed the world with the knowledge of astrology and passed it later on to the Babylonians. Ptolemy (and others) learned from the Babylonians …and we learned from them.
2 Five.Two AU from Home 04:55 08:57
Both Earth and Jupiter travel within their elliptical orbits and get first closer, then farther apart from each other. The smallest distance between Earth and Jupiter is 390,682,810 miles, while their greatest distance amounts to 576,682,810 miles.
In astronomical units (AU) this distance varies from 4.2 AU to 6.2 AU.
3 Four Kingdoms 08:57 12:12
The four moons of Jupiter seem for us like four unknown kingdoms. We call them Io, Europa, Ganymed and Kallisto.
4 Great Red Spot 12:12 16:10
Jupiter has powerful storms, often accompanied by lightning strikes. Located in the southern hemisphere, the Great Red Spot (GRS) is the largest known vortex in the Solar System. It could engulf two or three Earths (!!) and has existed for at least three hundred years.
5 Overclouded World 16:10 20:57
The atmosphere of Jupiter is the largest planetary atmosphere in the Solar System. It is mostly made up of molecular hydrogen and helium in rough solar proportions. We don´t know what happens there, but it must be very, very strange…
